چکیده

Enhanced backscattering of microwave radiation is demonstrated experimentally in a biomimetic radially anisotropic spherical metamaterial component. The core-shell device replicates the optical function nanospheres observed tapetum reflector compound eye shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) and translates effect from domain to frequencies. Analytical Mie theory calculations numerical-method simulations are used describe origin scattering single dielectric sphere terms its multipolar resonances. fabrication components using additive manufacture their experimental characterization described. results show that introduction radial anisotropy shell more than doubles monostatic radar cross section compared equivalent isotropic case. Radial modulation doping in core-shell nanowires.

Semiconductor nanowires are potential candidates for applications in quantum information processing, Josephson junctions and field-effect transistors and provide a unique test bed for low-dimensional physical phenomena. The ability to fabricate nanowire heterostructures with atomically flat, defect-free interfaces enables energy band engineering in both axial and radial directions. The design o...

Photonic bandgap of inverse opals prepared from core-shell spheres

In this study, we synthesized monodispersed polystyrene (PS)-silica core-shell spheres with various shell thicknesses for the fabrication of photonic crystals. The shell thickness of the spheres was controlled by various additions of tetraethyl orthosilicate during the shell growth process. The shrinkage ratio of the inverse opal photonic crystals prepared from the core-shell spheres was signif...
